Key Largo Dive Log – June 24-26, 2020

July 5, 2020

When your summer school trip gets canceled, there’s only one thing to do: Grab a gal-pal and some parents, pack up and drive south to the Florida Keys!

We were thrilled to have these VIP visitors from Virginia join us for some awesome diving in Key Largo at the end of June. Especially because one of them was our niece Carolina, and she made this amazing video of their dives for us:

Dive sites:

  • The Elbow (City of Washington and Hannah M. Bell wrecks)
  • Key Largo North Dry Rocks (Christ of the Abyss and “The Island”).

Conditions:

Both days were sunny with temperatures in the low 90s, water temps in the mid 80s, and great viz. Flat calm on the first day but the wind picked up a bit on Day 2 to about 2′ seas.

Max depth for all dives: easy and comfortable 26′.

Normal marine life as you can see — including *all* the tropical fish ??? — barracuda, a nurse shark, rays… and of course, Jesus!

Thanks to our guests for choosing us for their private charter dive trips – ? Y’all come back soon!
