What will I see? Turtles! March 4, 2019

Juvenile sea turtle spotted at The Elbow dive site, Key Largo

We came across this sweet young turtle at The Elbow dive site here in Key Largo last week!

These little creatures can be shy and often hide away when bigger groups of divers or snorkelers are around.

With a Lucky Fish Scuba private charter, we can drop into the best dive sites at times when no one else is around, improving our chances of spotting them.

This time our group of three divers got to spend a few minutes quietly watching the turtle, keeping a good distance to make sure we didn’t stress her out or keep her from natural activity.

According to NOAA, we have five different species of marine turtles in the waters of our Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, and all of them are listed as ‘threatened’ or ‘endangered’ in the Endangered Species List, so we feel quite protective of them!

Conditions are stunning as we approach the busy Spring Break season, so give us a shout and bring your friends and family down soon.
